Walking in Spain - Guided Packages

If you would like a more structured holiday and enjoy meeting fellow walkers, why not try our guided package. Aimed at singles, couples or small groups, accommodation will be bed and breakfast with evening meals arranged at local restaurants for the whole of the group and includes transport to and from the airport, walks and meals.

Friday
Arrive at either Alicante or Valencia airport, transport to your accommodation, leave you to settle in and recuperate. Evening meal at local restaurant and return transport to your accommodation.

Sunday
Transport to start of walk.
ALT de AMPLE 10K 4 HOURS – M
We start with a moderate walk of 4 hours beginning in the village of Jalon. The ascent takes an excellent mozarabic trail. All on good tracks passing old settlements, there are dramatic views into the barranco del Cao. Short optional scramble to the summit and then descend back to the valley. We return to village of Jalon where you will be taken to a local restaurante to enjoy a hearty Sunday lunch. Transport to accommodation.

Monday

WALK OF THE 10,000 STEPS 18K 6 ½ HOURS – VS
The length and height gain make this a very strenuous walk but it is all on good tracks, most of which are ancient stepped mozarabic trails. It descends and climbs out of 3 gorges, and almost all the going is either uphill or downhill. The views are stunning and this is a great classic walk of the area. If you do it once, you will want to come back and do it again! You don’t have to be an athlete to do this walk, but reasonably fit and experienced in mountain walking. Picnic Lunch. Evening meal at local restaurant.

Tuesday
Rest day, we leave you free to ease your aching legs and enjoy a relaxing day in the village or we can arrange transport to the coast or sightseeing or horse riding for the more adventurous! Evening meal at local restaurant.

Wednesday
We are back on the trails!
Transport to start of walk.
CARRASCAL DE PARENT 16K 6 HOURS – S
Leaving restaurante La Piscina we head out on good tracks and quite a steep ascent on to the ridge then a traverse of lovely tops with wonderful 360 degree views. Tracks most of the way but one or two short sections which are almost trackless. Short easy descent on concrete road and back onto the mozarabic trail back to the restaurant and maybe a pause for refreshments! Evening meal at local restaurant.

Thursday
The final day of walking!
BERNIA FORAT AND FORT 14K 5 HOURS – M
Starting at the base of the impressive Seria Bernia this clockwise circuit ascends on the north side with views of the valley below. Following a short crawl through a small tunnel you will emerge on the south side to stunning coastal views of Altea and Benidorm in the far distance. Carry on the rough tracks and over some scree to an old fort. Spectacular views, some scrambling. Descending on good tracks passing through to the north of the Bernia again and down to restaurant.

The above walks are all graded Moderate, Strenuous or Very Strenuous. Although you need to be reasonably fit and used to walking this is not a route march. Walks will be taken at the pace of the walkers involved and our aim is to make them enjoyable and informative, there is always time to enjoy the scenery, flora and fauna. The paths are sometimes rocky underfoot but never dangerous although walking boots must be worn.
